The fine print, in plain words
Affiliate disclosure
We want you to always know when we might earn money from a link, and why a product is on our shelf.

Paid links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer may pay us a small commission. It costs you nothing extra.
Every affiliate link is labeled (paid link) on the same line, right where you see it. Pages and posts that contain paid links also show a short disclosure at the top. We don't rely on this page alone to tell you.
How a product earns a spot
- Used here means we own the product and use it on our homestead. We describe our real experience, including what we paid and what we don't like.
- Researched means we have not used the product ourselves. We say so, we make no first-hand claims, and we link the sources we relied on.
Whether a link pays us, and how much, does not decide which products we include or how we describe them. We would rather leave a category empty than fill it with guesses.
Which programs we work with
We are not a member of any affiliate program yet, and that includes Amazon: we are not an Amazon Associate. As we join programs, we'll list each one here.
Sponsorships and free products
If a brand ever sponsors a post or video, or sends us a product for free, we'll say so clearly at the start, for example "Sponsored by ___" or "This was sent to us free." Sponsors don't get to approve what we say.
Our own products
We don't sell anything of our own today. If we ever do, those items will be marked Made by us. They wouldn't be affiliate links, but we want the relationship to be just as clear.
Questions
